Harp Lessons & Master Classes

Caroline is a JUNO Award Nominee for solo classical poerformance and the only harpist in Canada to graduate from the renowned Paris Conservatoire with a first prize.  With over 25 years of teaching experience many of Caroline's students have acheived advanced levels of performance and recieved numerous awards and invitations. 

Caroline was the founder of the harp program at the Ottawa Youth Orchestra and ran the program for 20 years.  During this period Caroline had the largest program of its kind for the harp in Canada.  Caroline now has a private studio.

Caroline's private harp studio is located in central Ottawa Canada. Harp students range in age from seven to adult, and from beginner to advanced levels.  Caroline teaches the traditonal European School of harp method which is recognized as the approach of choice for the top international performers.  Caroline’s teaching program, is focused on developing high caliber performance of classical solo harp, harp ensembles, chamber music, and orchestra audition repertoire.  Lessons are provided in an enjoyable setting, tailored to the individuals needs, and abilities.

Many of Caroline’s harp students have become professional musicians and a number have gone on to advanced studies at major university music schools including: Eastman School of Music, Yale School of Music, University of Monteal, and University of Toronto.  Several students have won principal harp positions with the National Youth Orchestra and others have been invited to performance at the Ottawa International Chamber Music Festival.

To enjoy the instrument and progress in level regular practice is necessary in addition to lessons.  Caroline provides a program tailored to the individual and their particular needs. 

Lyra Angelica Harp Ensembles
Caroline’s Lyra Angelica harp ensembles include harp duo, trios, and quartet ensembles beginning from grade one (1) to grade twelve (12) advanced Royal Conservatory of Music repertoire.  Caroline strives to promote and achieve the highest standards of performing ensembles.  Caroline selects students based on their development for the various ensembles.  Lyra Angelica ensembles perform in concert invitations as well as outreach to schools and retirement homes.

Master Classes
Caroline is available for master classes specializing in French repertoire solo, ensemble or chamber.

Competition Judging
Caroline is a much sought after judge for perfomrance competitions including the Orchestre Symphonique de Montreal National Music Competition.
